Manufactured from grade 304 stainless steel, this wire rope clip offers excellent corrosion resistance and long-lasting performance for general outdoor and light industrial applications. Each clip consists of a U-bolt, a grooved saddle, and two hex nuts. The saddle clamps the wire rope firmly to help prevent slipping under tension, making it a reliable, reusable alternative to swaging or splicing.
For a secure termination, use at least 2 to 3 clips depending on the wire rope diameter, spaced a minimum of 6 times the cable diameter apart. Always remember to place the saddle on the live end of the rope, never saddle a dead horse. For critical or load-bearing applications, follow applicable safety standards. When properly installed, mechanical wire rope clips typically rated at about 80% of the wire rope’s minimum breaking strength.
Typical applications include creating end-stops or secondary safety loops for cable lines, such as temporary guardrails, mooring lines, clotheslines, zip lines, suspension systems, and other wire rope terminations for outdoor, residential, architectural, and commercial applications.
